Diplomacy, Webinar  |   Share

Our July WebDebate focuses on the question whether diplomacy can be learned through practice alone, and the dynamics between traditional training for diplomats and on-the-job training.

[UPDATE] Read the follow-up blog post and watch the recording from the July WebDebate. Registrations for the next WebDebate, on 6 September, are now open.

The WebDebate will focus on the dynamics between traditional training for diplomats and on-the-job training. We will explore possibilities and best practices in on-the-job training and highlight the best avenues for preparing diplomats for the globalized, connected, and accelerated world they are facing.

Join us for our next WebDebate on Tuesday, 5 July at 11:00 UTC (13.00 CEST). Dr Cecilia Mornata from the University of Geneva will present the results of her research on on-the-job training and her work with Doctors Without Borders. Mr Dejan Dinčić, DiploFoundation’s former technical director, now helping organisations adopt online training and make better use of digital platforms, will add reflections on online learning formats in on-the-job training and Diplo’s experience with training diplomats. Fill in the registration form to reserve your place. Registrations are now closed.

The WebDebates on the future of diplomacy are live streamed on the first Tuesday of every month. They are organised by DiploFoundation within the framework of the International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT). Learn more about our series of WebDebates.

If you form part of a dynamic circle of practitioners in your community, we encourage you to establish a diplomatic hub to follow the WebDebates and to facilitate discussions. For more information, contact Ms Mina Mudric, DiploFoundation.
