Traditional methods of diplomacy are being substituted by new ones, greatly influenced by the Internet. In this respect Grech discuses such methods, thus defining virtual diplomacy and the world around it. She attempts to provide insight to the traditional diplomatic process and how technology has effected such a process and highlights the new opportunities virtual diplomacy may have for diplomats and also the government and general public.
