Former Indian Ambassador
Dr Bhaskar Balakrishnan was an Indian diplomat from 1974 to 2007. He served as ambassador of India to Greece and Cuba, and has worked with UN organisations in Geneva and Vienna, including three years as special assistant to the director general of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). He was also a member of India’s National Security Advisory Board.
Balakrishnan is an adjunct faculty member at JSS University, Mysore, and a science diplomacy fellow of the Research and Information Systems (RIS) in New Delhi. He is the author of the book Technology and International Relations – Challenges for the 21 st Century. Balakrishnan holds a PhD in Physics from Stonybrook University, New York.
