China moves to metaverse party-building training Â
The Chinese Academy of Governance, a key training school for government officials, started using metaverse-based training for party officials in its efforts to reinforce allegiance to the party.
The platform, developed by the Chinese virtual reality company Mengke VR, has many typical features of virtual reality, facilitating avatar movement, interaction, and communication. It allows users to remotely access virtual activities, including party conferences and party history lessons. Mengke VR noted that it is more interesting than the ‘rather boring’ traditional party-building programmes.
