The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Badan Ekonomi Kreatif, Pulse Lab Jakarta, and DiploFoundation are co-organising the ‘Regional conference on digital diplomacy – Digital diplomacy: Challenges and opportunities’ taking place on 10-11 September 2019 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The conference aims to serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and to encourage co-operation in the field of digital diplomacy between countries in the region, by facilitating discussions as follows:

  • How digital diplomacy has been implemented in the region

  • Sharing of knowledge and experiences in using digital technologies as an instrument to conduct diplomacy by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • Discussion between experts and government representatives about the challenges, opportunities, and the future of digital diplomacy, including the effective use of the instrument thus far

  • Government representatives, the private sector, civil society, and practitioners to explore possible collaboration and mutual support in regional co-operation in order to develop a tangible target in digital diplomacy

The conference will also introduce opportunities for digital co-operation within the private sector and enable the participants to utilise digital assets as subjects in digital diplomacy.
