The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Jovan Kurbalija. The workshop will examine the impact of the Internet on public diplomacy. Discussions will be illustrated using the latest developments in e-diplomacy. The workshop will start with a survey of the Internet-driven changes in the global environment for today’s diplomacy, and the emergence of new topics on diplomatic agendas (Internet governance, cyber-politics, cyber war). The main focus of the session will be on the current and future use of e-tools in diplomatic activities, including analyses of the use of social media (e.g. blogs, Twitter, Facebook, wiki) in diplomacy. Participants will be engaged in the practical exercise on the use of e-tools in diplomacy. The underlying theme of the session will be the EU’s approach to e-diplomacy.
