Law of the Sea – Law of the Internet: Inspiring Analogy?

The analogy between the Internet and open sea has been around for some time. More recently, Admiral Rogers, the new director of the US National Security Agency (NSA), suggested that the Law of the Sea should inspire future regulation of the Internet.

The applicability of the Law of the Sea to the Internet was discussed during the Malta Conference on the Internet as Global Public Resource (29-30 April 2015).  Dr Alex Sceberras Trigona, former minister of foreign affairs, and expert on the Law of the Sea will address the question of possible analogies between the Internet and Law of the Sea.
