Diplo at the 5th IGF

Diplo made a significant impact at the 5th IGF in Lithuania in September 2010 with active participation from fellows, tutors, and staff. Remote involvement reached a record high, with over 600 individuals connecting, and 33 remote hubs participating from various continents. Ginger Paque represented Diplo at the opening session for the Civil Society Internet Governance Caucus.

Diplo at the 4th IGF

Diplo delegates participated in the 4th IGF in November 2009 at Sharm el-Sheikh. Efforts were made to include a wider range of stakeholders using Web 2.0 tools for remote participation, aiming to reduce costs and expand the community involvement. Despite a discrepancy between developed and developing countries, youth participation was significantly improved and more structured than in previous years.

Multistakeholder diplomacy

A global conference on Multistakeholder Diplomacy took place in Malta in February 2005, with over 90 delegates attending. The event was organized by Diplo, in collaboration with the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other partners, opening with speeches by Dr. Francis Zammit Dimech and H.E. Prof. Guido de Marco.

3rd Global Knowledge Conference

The 3rd Global Knowledge Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in December 2007 brought together over 2,000 participants from various sectors to share knowledge and establish partnerships through expert panels and workshops. Diplo staff actively engaged in discussion panels during the event.

Diplo at 2nd IGF in Rio

eLearning Africa

In May 2007, the eLearning Africa conference in Nairobi attracted over 1400 participants, including African education ministries. The event united academia, business, civil society, and governments to highlight impactful technology-driven educational projects, featuring a presentation by Diplo on successful online learning design by Dejan Dincic.
