Telecom Namibia marks major achievement with Equiano cable launch

Telecom Namibia is leading the launch of the Equiano cable, coinciding with the company’s 32nd anniversary. The Telecom Namibia Equiano Cable Station was officially opened in Swakopmund, connecting Namibia to Europe through Portugal and linking to South Africa via Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Officials describe the cable as a “game-changer” for Namibia, significantly improving communication speed and reliability. The Equiano cable is expected to create opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, and logistics, while also promoting regional integration within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
