ITU and ATU discuss ICT progress in Africa

In a strategic move to address the evolving ICT landscape, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) are focusing on adapting to industry changes. ATU Secretary General John Omo and Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the ITU Development Sector (BDT), discussed key policy issues in the digital world.
Dr. Zavazava emphasized the ITU BDT’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and digital services through innovative initiatives. He highlighted ongoing projects aimed at bridging the digital divide and transforming communities.
John Omo reiterated the ATU’s support for ITU’s efforts and their dedication to fostering digital advancements across Africa. This discussion occurred during the ITU Council Meeting, a forum for global telecommunication leaders to strategize on the future of digital communications, underscoring the importance of collaboration in addressing industry challenges and opportunities.
