Dr Rebecca Dudley was the principal adviser for international humanitarian law at New Zealand Red Cross for eight years. She continues to be a Red Cross international delegate in the fields of protection, humanitarian diplomacy, and international humanitarian law. She previously worked as the human rights training adviser to the Police Service of Northern Ireland, as part of the peace process there, and with the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. She has been involved in civil society and government negotiations based on law and policy in the fields of community development, gender equality, human rights, and peacebuilding. She holds an LLM and PhD in International Law from Queen’s University Belfast, and a BA from Yale University in the USA.
