Graham Lister

Graham Lister MSc, PhD, is a sociologist and economist with an international reputation for work on health policy and value for money. He has worked in 25 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia with WHO, DfID, DH, IBRD, USAID and other health and aid organisations. As partner of C&L (now PwC) he established the largest consulting practice in Africa (outside South Africa) and the largest consulting team in Europe focused on health.  He has developed and run training in health negotiations as a component of health leadership training for accession states to the EU and for health leaders in East Africa. He coordinated the first national UK programme on global health, the first international conference on Health and Foreign Policy and helped in the development of Global Health Europe, a community that promotes synergy between the policy spheres of public health, foreign policy, development, and research for health. As a Senior Fellow of the Global Health Programme at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, he regularly contributes to the development and the teaching of executive courses on global health diplomacy and governance. In the UK he has served on several national and local boards including the NICE Partners Council, Buckinghamshire Health Authority, the College of Health and the Health Protection Agency. He is visiting Professor at London South Bank University and is currently rapporteur for the UK/Canada Colloquium on Global Health.
