Kolasin, Montenegro

The Summer School for Young Diplomats ‘Gavro Vuković’ is an annual event in Montenegro, organised by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It brings together young diplomats from around the world to discuss current international affairs and build lasting connections.

The 18th cohort of the Summer School focused on ‘Foreign and Security Affairs in the Age of Information,‘ dedicating substantial attention to the future of diplomatic communication and practice in the digital age. The program aimed to enhance networking, share best practices in diplomacy, and foster an understanding of diverse cultures and foreign policy priorities.

On Day 3, Katarina Bojovic, Director of Digital Diplomacy at Diplo, delivered a workshop titled ‘Shaping Diplomatic Communication in the AI Era: Tools, Tensions, and Trust.‘ The session demystified artificial intelligence by explaining its core concepts and building blocks, exploring how AI can be applied in diplomatic practice, addressing key challenges for diplomats, and examining how to build trust in AI within diplomatic contexts.
