In June 2007, Diplo released a new book, ‘Foreign Ministries: Managing Diplomatic Networks and Optimizing Value’, edited by Amb. Kishan S Rana and Dr Jovan Kurbalija. In this collection of papers presented at the Conference on Foreign Ministries hosted by Diplo in May 2006, the overarching theme is the adaptation and reform that these ministries have undertaken to apply information technology in their outreach to domestic publics, in consular services, and in outsourcing options. Some of the issues addressed cover relations between civil servants and politicians; the role of sub-state entities in diplomacy; and how to survive budget cuts.
