Event description
Diplo, in partnership with the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the SDC, organised an International Conference on the ‘Diplomacy of Small States’, in February 2007, in Malta. The conference addressed the challenges that small states face in achieving better participation in global affairs with fewer resources. Practitioners and academics presented their ideas on issues such as the organisation of diplomatic services, crisis management, the conduct of complex negotiations, innovative forms of representation, and the use of the Internet and ICT in diplomacy.
