On 17 February 2025, Diplo and the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP) contributed to a webinar on ‘Shaping the Digital Future: WSIS+20 Review and the Future of Internet Governance’ for members of the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
The webinar was dedicated to providing GAC members with updates on events, initiatives, and processes related to the WSIS+20 review, the implementation of the Global Digital Compact (GDC), and the future of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). Contributions were provided by entities such as ICANN, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group, and the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET). Diplo/GIP contributed with a briefing on the overall WSIS+20 process, provided by Sorina Teleanu, Director of Knowledge.
