Students in the fourth generation of the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme have gathered on Thursday, 3 July, for a virtual closing ceremony at Diplomacy Island in Second Life. To enable participation of students with weak bandwidth, Diplo has provided a software bridge between Second Life and the Diplo classroom chat rooms. Besides over 50 students of the 2008 programme and their group tutors, the meeting was attended by Mr. Jovan Kurbalija, Director of DiploFoundation, Mr. Markus Kummer, Executive Coordinator of the Internet Governance Forum Secretariat, and Mr. Rajesh Agarwal from NIXI, the organisers of the forthcoming Internet Governance Forum meeting in India. They have congratulated to participants with emphasizing the importance of Capacity Building and Diplo’s efforts in that direction, and have presented future plans of their respective institutions.
