CyberLab provided an opportunity for the delegations to gain understanding of how the Internet works. It also showcased some of the emerging trends of cyber-diplomacy and cybersecurity, such as 3D-Printing, Internet of Things (IoT), Bitcoin and crypto-currencies, Dark Web and cybercrime activities, cyber-attacks and cyber weapons (e.g. botnets, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks).
CyberLab follows the model of simulations developed by Diplo in numerous diplomatic settings, such as the scenario exercise Diplo organised at the October OSCE Chairmanship Event on Effective Strategies to Cyber/ICT Security Threats.
