The impact of Internet on modern diplomacy and the emergence of new topics on diplomatic agendas are among the topics that will be discussed during a workshop for ambassadors and high officials of international organisations.

The ‘E-diplomacy - workshop on the appropriate use of e-tools in modern diplomacy’ is being held on 6 April 2011 at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, in co-operation with UNECA and the African Union.

The workshop will examine new topics on diplomatics agendas, such as Internet governance, cyber-politics, and cyber war. It will also explore the current and future use of e-tools in diplomatic activities, including an analysis of the use of social media in diplomacy.

This workshop is part of a series of planned activities under the Capacity Development in ICT Policy and Internet Governance for Africa – Caribbean – Pacific (ACP) programme, financed by the EU @CP-ICT Programme, 9th European Development Fund (EDF).
