Dr Jovan Kurbalija, Director of DiploFoundation, will deliver a public lecture on 28 March 2025 at the Polish Diplomatic Academy on the evolving role of diplomacy in AI geopolitics, following a two-day Institutional AI Transformation training for Poland’s MFA staff.
The lecture will address three key aspects:
- AI as a topic on the diplomatic agenda
- AI as a new environment for diplomatic work
- AI as a tool in diplomatic practice
As AI continues to shape international relations, its implications for diplomacy are becoming increasingly significant. The lecture will explore how AI is not a replacement for diplomats but a tool that can enhance diplomatic work, including reporting and decision-making. It will also highlight the importance of developing internal capacities within Ministries of Foreign Affairs to ensure diplomats are equipped with the necessary AI skills to represent national interests and protect sensitive information.
