2023 and beyond: Wise and compassionate Turkish diplomacy

Türkiye has 255 missions in different countries around the world despite the global COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. With 45 leading world economies and 193 countries, the value of these number of missions coupled with Türkiye’s position in global diplomacy is significant.

The country is also investing in wide-ranging digital diplomacy and technology development projects in order to take its ‘humanitarian and entrepreneurial’ diplomatic success to an even more ambitious level in 2023 and beyond.  The diplomatic missions have significantly increased Türkiye’s global and regional opening strategy, with each mission opened in Africa contributing to a 25%-30% increase in exports and an increase in export distance from 2,953 kilometres to 3,157 kilometres.

Türkiye has taken historic strides allowing it to more intensively find common solutions to global issues in its relations and commercial diplomacy with Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. The country’s wise and compassionate, sustainable approach to diplomacy will carry it forward into 2023 and beyond, serving as an inspiration for all developing countries.
