Geneva, Switzerland, 16 February 2017: The 2017 Geneva Engage Awards have honoured the most effective actors in social media engagement in 2016.
DiploFoundation has been hailed as a 'leading capacity development provider in the field of international policy and diplomacy' by the President of Malta, H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.
The speech was delivered in Valletta, Malta, on 9 September by the President on the occasion the state visit to Malta of the President of the Swiss Confederation H.E. Johann N. Schneider-Ammann.
The Geneva Internet Platform and DiploFoundation welcomed Geneva-based Ambassadors for a briefing on digital policy, led by Dr Jovan Kurbalija, on 7 September 2016. The briefing was aimed at ambassadors who have recently presented their credentials in Geneva.
The book 50 Years of Malta's Foreign Policy (1964-2014) is a new publication edited by Ambassador Saviour F. Borg, which gathers the speeches delivered by Malta’s Prime Ministers, Ministers, and Representatives in the General Debate of successive sessions of the United Nations General Assembly over a period of 50 years.
With the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit just ahead, many activities this month focused on the ASEM process. Diplo participated in the launch of the ASEF Outlook Report 2016/2017, which took place on 7 July, and trained more than 130 young people from ASEM countries during the 7th Model ASEM summit ( 6-10 July) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The use of online tools together with traditional diplomatic approaches is how Saint Kitts and Nevis can ensure representation in multilateral diplomacy in Geneva and globally, Dr Jovan Kurbalija said during an e-diplomacy workshop for diplomats of the Caribbean small island state.

Safeguarding foreign interests, and mediation and facilitation, are two types of good offices offered by Switzerland. Both types are about bridge-building, and reflect the Swiss ‘specialty’ in contributing to peace and security.
