Marlene Willimek
Research Fellow
Marlene is currently based in Germany and joined Diplo as a Research Fellow in 2024. Her interests lie at the intersection of foreign policy, new technologies and unconventional forms of diplomacy.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from the University of Osnabrück in Germany and a dual Master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she conducted research on digital diplomacy and diplomatic practices in the Global South and North.
She has recently interned with the European External Action Service and the UN Department of Peace Operations and has previously worked for the International Crisis Group.
