Giorgio Ferrario has more than 28 years of experience in humanitarian work across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia, working mainly for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. He has covered different positions, first joining the IFRC as Field Delegate seconded by the Italian Red Cross in 1985, and is presently Head of Country Cluster Support Team and Representative to ASEAN. He also performed as independent consultant focusing on evaluations and reviews, the latest being a review of the Movement Coordination Framework in Haiti. Giorgio’s strengths are in strategic management, organisational development, representation and humanitarian diplomacy. His work in support to leaders of 22 National Societies has covered complex integrity issues. During his missions, he has managed a wide series of humanitarian emergencies, including earthquakes, floods, population movements, conflict-related complex emergencies, droughts, hurricanes. He has been a volunteer of the Italian Red Cross since 1981.
