Half-day course: Cybersecurity in Practice 2017

01 December 2017 - 07 December 2017

Geneva / Bern, Switzerland

A pilot course aims to demystify cybersecurity by presenting the issue in a simple and understandable way to diplomats and officials in public administration, permanent missions, and international organisations. The course is being delivered by DiploFoundation, with the support of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland. Two sessions of the same course are being offered: the first will take place in Geneva on 1 December, and the second will take place in Bern on 7 December.

What?

Cybersecurity, and cyber issues in general, are often mystified. This may lead to a lack of understanding of the basic cybersecurity concepts, procedures, and the technology behind it. Yet, it is possible to learn about the technology and the related risks in a simple way. The half-day face-to-face course on Cybersecurity in Practice will look into the existing and arising challenges of cybersecurity.

Who?

The course will benefit diplomats and officials in public administration, permanent missions, and international organisations who aim at gaining insight into the practical, social and technical aspects of cybersecurity, which will also enable them to better understand cybersecurity as a policy issue.

When?

Two sessions of the same course are being offered. The first will take place in Geneva on 1 December, 10:30 to 15:00 CET (applications are now closed). The second will take place in Bern on 7 December, 13:00 to 17:00 CET. The same material will be covered in both sessions. Applicants can select one of the sessions when applying for the course.
