Swissnex's mission is to support the outreach and active engagement of its partners in the international exchange of knowledge, ideas, and talent. It aims to strengthen Switzerland's profile as a leading innovation hotspot.

The organization's activities are based on a collaborative approach, involving public and private partnerships and funding. Swissnex offers various services, including connecting Swiss universities, researchers, and academics for international research exchange, helping Swiss startups go global, providing insights into creative activities across education, research, and innovation, and empowering Swiss-affiliated artists and professionals in the global arena.

Swissnex also has a significant impact through its partnerships and focus areas like Project Quantum and Swissnex for the Planet, which aim to address global challenges. The network includes five main locations in some of the most innovative regions worldwide, enhancing Switzerland's global reach in science and technology.
