How can the Internet’s public policy development be promoted, and how can innovation in global cooperation be fostered? These are the themes which will be discussed by Diplo director Dr Jovan Kurbalija and other governance experts during the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China.

The third edition of the annual World Internet Conference, also known as the Wuzhen Summit, is being held on 16-18 November 2016, in Wuzhen, China. The event is hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government.
Dr Kurbalija will address the Forum on Global Governance in Cyberspace, on Thursday, 17th November, during Session IV on ‘Soft Strength: Global Cooperation to Promote Public Policy Development’. The session will be moderated by Dr Xiaodong Lee, President & CEO of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), and Danil Kerimi, Head of IT and Electronics Industries, World Economic Forum.
Under the overarching theme ‘Innovation-driven Internet development for the benefit of all – Building a community of common future in cyberspace’, the conference will feature discussions on five key topics: the Internet economy, Internet innovation, Internet culture, cyberspace governance, and global Internet cooperation. Sixteen sub-forums will address the following specific themes: digital economics, ‘Internet plus’ strategies, Internet entrepreneurs, mobile Internet, big data, new media development, Internet culture, Cross-Straits and Hong Kong Internet development, Internet youth focus, global cyberspace governance, Internet anti-terrorism, cyberspace legal governance, Belt and Road Initiative, China-Africa Internet cooperation, Internet international high-level think thanks, and cybersecurity.
