How much water is there on earth?

Seen from on high our planet is blue tinged – the reflection of the oceans. How much water is there, come to think of it?

The left globule is all the water there is on the world’s surface (yes, there is water under the earth’s crust, but go get it). The right hand droplet is fresh water. We need it for drinking, washing, irrigating, and electric power. That’s all there is – and it is not even uniformly distributed across our world.
