Call for Applications for Capacity Development Online Programme in Internet Governance and Information and Communication Technologies Policy

DiploFoundation is currently accepting applications for the 2010 Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme (IGCBP10). This online programme is designed to improve Internet governance (IG) related knowledge and skills for participants mainly from developing countries and assist them to participate in the global decision-shaping debates on Internet Governance (IG). The Programme also facilitates community building among individuals with different national, cultural, and professional backgrounds.

Diplo also has an open call for applications for applicants from African-Caribbean-Pacific (ACP) states, a programme funded by the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States and the European Union and in partnership with seven ACP institutions.  Information about this programme is available at www.diplomacy.edu/acp.

IG training for Council of Europe officials

An on-situ two-day training programme for officials from the Council of Europe was organised by DiploFoundation in Strasbourg on December 14-15, 2009.

The aim was to facilitate the officials’ work on Internet Governance issues in view of their involvement in international and pan-European processes and dialogues on Internet-related policies.

Diplo makes an “impact” at IGF09

“An organisation well-known for its distinctive role in knowledge generation and special teaching methodology on Internet issues for young people” is how DiploFoundation was hailed and applauded during the fourth Internet Governance Forum meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which took place on November 15-18, 2009.

And just as DiploFoundation’s efforts were formally recognised during the IGF09, so were this year’s year-long efforts of over 20 DiploFoundation delegates, who were awarded fellowships to attend the meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh.
