“Internet Governance Diplomats” workshop in Nairobi tomorrow

Diplo is gearing up for the “Internet Governance Diplomats” workshop, set to take place on Thursday, March 11 and Friday March 12, 2010, during ICANN’s meeting at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, in Nairobi.
The workshop  is designed to excite debate from the around 30 participants as they delve deeper into the main Internet Governance issues in the light of international, national and regional policy and processes. They will also take part in a diplomatic exercise, and will be awarded certificates.
Diplo’s workshop is the first in a new series of IG activities for ACP states, organised with the help of the European Commission and Secretariat of the ACP Group of States.

Record number of applications for IGCBP 2010

Almost 600  people, from every region in the world , have applied to the DiploFoundation 2010 Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme in the four weeks since the call opened in January.
The resounding success of the programme has made this year’s number of applications an absolute record. As a result, this year, additional classes will be opened to accommodate a bigger group, with as widespread a geographical representation as possible.
The high quality of applications has made Diplo’s selection task very difficult; yet is also promising a great start to the programme – on March 1 – leading up to the fifth Internet Governance Forum in September.

Call for Applications for Capacity Development Online Programme in Internet Governance and Information and Communication Technologies Policy

DiploFoundation is currently accepting applications for the 2010 Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme. These online programmes are designed to improve Internet governance (IG) related knowledge and skills for participants mainly from developing countries and assist them to participate in the global decision-shaping debates on Internet Governance (IG). The Programme also facilitates community building among individuals with different national, cultural, and professional backgrounds.

Call for applications is closed.
 

ACP Programme 
For applicants from African-Caribbean-Pacific (ACP) states, a programme funded by the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States and the European Union and in partnership with seven ACP institutions.  Information about this programme is available at www.diplomacy.edu/acp.
