Ms Veronica Cretu
President of CMB Training Centre, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova

Veronica Cretu is a Tutor in the Internet Governance Capacity Building Program (2005 -2006 phases). Ms. Cretu started working with Diplo in January 2005 after successfully completing DiploFoundation’s Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy Programme in 2004. She has also been collaborating with Diplo on the IG Portal by carrying out research into the socio-cultural aspects of IG, with a special focus on education and the mass media. In addition, in April 2006 Veronica started to work as a Diplo Alumni Moderator. Ms. Cretu comes from the Republic of Moldova, where she is the president and founder of the CMB Training Centre. Her areas of interest are adult education (cooperative learning and online learning), human resources management, general management, leadership and project management.

 

Andrei Mikheyev
Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russia

Andrei Mikheyev was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He obtained his degree in International Relations from Nizhny Novgorod State University and has recently completed his PhD dissertation on Foreign Policy Decision Making in the Information Age: the Role of Non-Governmental Organizations at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University). Andrei is currently working at MGIMO-University's Internet Politics Centre as manager of the website team and is involved in a number of other internet-related projects, including the first Russian portal on international relations and world politics www.worldpolitics.ru. Andrei became involved with Diplo in 2004, first as a student in the Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy programme and then as a tutor in the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme and coordinator of other Diplo courses. He has also contributed, both as translator and as project manager, to the translation and publication of Diplo's Internet Governance and "Building.org booklets in Russia.

 

Seiiti Arata
Secretariat of the Internet Governance Forum, Geneva

Mr Seiiti Arata Jr is a lawyer with more than nine years' work experience in the information technology, media and entertainment industry. A Brazilian citizen from São Paulo, he currently works with the Secretariat of the Internet Governance Forum in Geneva. Mr. Arata is involved with DiploFoundation as a tutor in the IG Capacity Building Programme and other projects involving communication and community building. He has a background in Law at the University of Sao Paulo and a master's degree in international law at the University of Sao Paulo, presenting his dissertation on "Regulation by technological standards in Internet governance".

 

Ms Marsha Guthrie
Caribbean Development Bank, Barbados

Marsha Guthrie is a tutor and graduate of both Diplo’s Internet Governance Capacity Building and Research Programmes. She is also a member of staff of the Information and Technology Management Services Department of the Caribbean Development Bank in Barbados, West Indies. Marsha has taught at the Barbados Community College and is a freelance researcher. Her  educational background is in social sciences, having earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, and her master’s degree from the University of Westminster, London. Her work experience includes content management and knowledge management and her areas of interest include the use of technology for sustainable development in lesser-developed countries.

 

Dhrupad Mathur
Senior Consultant for the National e-Governance Plan at the Project Management Unit at the Ministry of IT, New Delhi, India

Dr Mathur works as a senior consultant on the Nation eGovernance Plan at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. With over seven years of professional experience, he has been an academic and a researcher. He has a PhD in e-Business process transformations for developing new business models. An MBA by training, he has international publications to his credit. Dhrupad is also a Sun certified programmer and an IBM Certified Solution Developer. He has worked with the United Nations Working Group on Internet Governance at Geneva on a fellowship, in association with Diplo foundation.

 

Ms Mwende Njiraini
Assistant Engineer with the Communications Commission, Kenya

Mwende Njiraini is a tutor for the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme 2006 (IGCBP06). She has been involved with Diplo Foundation since 2005 as a participant of the IGCBP05 and Internet Governance research project. Her research topics included Open Source: a Platform for Local Content Development in Africa and The Allocation of IPv6: Bridging the Digital Divide. Mwende holds a bachelor’s degree in technology, electrical and communications engineering from Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya, and holds a postgraduate certificate in communications management (e-MCM) from Coventry University, UK. She is currently a postgraduate student (master’s degree in communications management) at Strathclyde University, in Glasgow, Scotland. Her research interests include internet interconnection, technologies and governance in relation to developing countries.
