Former participants of DiploFoundation’s Capacity Building Programme, Dr Nikhil Agarwal, Dr Dhrupad Mathur and Priyanthi Dalwatte, attended this year’s eGov meeting held in New Delhi India. They engaged in informal discussions with other participants on IG issues that concerned South Asia and the plans for awareness raising activities leading up to the IGF meeting to be held in Delhi in 2008. There was considerable interest in DiploFoundation's books and DVDs on Internet Governance and its work in capacity building and training.
EgovIndia 2006 was organised by the Center for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS www.csdms.in) in New Delhi, from August 23 -25, 2006. The parallel events held during the conference were Digital Learning India 2006 and Telecenters Forum 2006.

The main theme for EgovIndia was "eGovernance in India – Vision 2010". More then 100 speakers expressed their views during 17 sessions, which focused on various issues including "eGov in India: How not to reinvent the wheel", "Harnessing Public-Private Partnership for eGovernance", "e-Governance in Municipalities", "Standard Interpretability", and "State-Wide Area Network: Implementation Issues". At a parallel event – Digital Learning India 2006 – speakers and participants deliberated on issues related to ICT in education and building strategies for transforming education in India, connectivity models and the 2010 road map.
