Internet Governance and Policy

5th EGENI

Paris – June, 2006

Eva Tanner, DiploFoundation’s project development manager, attended this year’s 5th European Global Event on Domain Names and Address Systems on Internet (EGENI).

The main theme of this annual meeting, which was organised by ISOC France, CCIP (Paris Chamber of Commerce) and MEDEF, was "Internet is for everyone!”.

This year, EGENI addressed various issues from a European perspective – topics such as multilingualism, the .eu domain and new technologies were discussed in the parallel workshops.

EGENI aims to provide Europe's Internet community with a place to meet and share ideas and opinions in order to facilitate greater European participation in the decision-making process on subjects as diverse as technical co-ordination and governance and new technologies related to Internet Governance.
