About us DiploFoundation is a non-profit organisation which works to assist all countries, particularly those with limited human and financial resources, to participate meaningfully in international affairs, through education and training programs, research, and the development of information and communications technologies for diplomatic activities. The WSIS process, based on a multistakeholder approach, involving governments, civil society, the business sector, and international organisations, comprised numerous specificities, and was a unique learning experience for all the actors involved. Diplo has been contributing to the WSIS process through a gradual building of capacities among various stakeholders, via courses, publications, and awareness-building activities. During the WSIS process (from the first PrepCom held in mid-2002 to the second WSIS summit held in November 2005), Diplo has organised 13 training activities related to Internet Governance, involving 273 participants, mainly from developing countries. One of the main features of these training activities was the multistakeholder composition of the training groups, which included diplomats, academics, business people, journalists, and civil society representatives. DiploFoundation is based in Malta, with offices in Geneva and Belgrade.
