In the flash-session you will play the imaginary roles of members of the drafting group of the Rio Internet meeting: USA, Brazil, China, European Union, G77, Business Sector, Civil Society, and ICANN.

You have one hour before the plenary session where head of states, ministers and non-state leaders will debate the Rio Declaration and, if the text is acceptable, adopt it.

You will be experience something of the reality of multilateral negotiations and chairing meetings during this training session. Some ideas for the 2014 Rio meeting (and beyond) may emerge out of this imaginary exercise.

How it will work?

  • You will receive a brief introduction about chairing meeting and overall exercise.
  • You will receive instructions for actors you will represent.
  • You will negotiate the draft text of the Rio Resolution on Internet Governance

Engage with us tomorrow and have some fun – and learn something new!
